Black Jesus eXperience is proud once again to be part of Melbourne International Jazz Festival representing in Footscray, an important, inspiring, and influential community for BJX.

A free event, all ages, all welcome.

We’re on and up for it at Las Palmas, 56 Paisley Street, Footscray, VIC, 3011 Australia, onstage 8.45pm.

We’ll be playing a bag full of freshest of fresh chunes from BJX’s brand new double album Good Evening Black Buddha, plus a taste of more chunes from the future.

It’ll be a great evening – on before us at 6pm is our great friend Olugbade Okunade (GP Saxy) with real deal Afrobeat and at 7.30 superb local Ethio-Jazz saxophonist Solomon Sisay, formerly of Ethiopia’s legendaty Axumite band. It’ll be superb.

The rhymes and chimes of Black Jesus eXperience deliver musical strength and beauty through the vocal prism of Hip-Hop and freedom of Funk, iced with the unique voice and insightful truth of singer Enushu Taye.

Don’t believe us, believe these sinners:

**** “Beautifully layered and organic, trippy and hypnotic.
This is the good stuff, don’t waste a drop of it”  Blues And Soul Magazine

“Ancient to modern sensibility. Rammed with more rhythm-stretching melody than its groove ought to have room for.”  The Guardian – John Fordham

**** “Volcanic.. fusillades of brass and percussion.. spiraling rhythms.. starkly hypnotic.”  The Times – Clive Davis
