WHEN PIGS FLY ’22 ~ NYE at the Farm (Event starts 3pm – BJX Stagetime TBC)
From some of the minds behind Runner Up, Colour, and Something Unlimited, comes one more farm-fresh miracle of 2022: When Pigs Fly.
After two years in the great indoors, we’re ready to oink.
This New Year’s Eve, trot over to Collingwood Children’s Farm for a riverside countdown of the windmill that was. Clop those hooves to some open-air grooves (courtesy of our carton of good eggs*) ‘til it’s time to hit the hay.
Think: Fresh air (yes). Space to dance (ooof). River sounds (10 hours ASMR). Farm animals (please don’t feed them). Dirt (lots). Sticky floors (less). When (pigs fly). Dramatic meteor shower (unlikely, but not impossible)… on a farm in the middle of a city (for real).
So round your mates up for a legen-dairy hoedown as we bear witness to the last sunset of the year with LIVE music, GOOD food, and G.O.A.T energy.

Collingwood Children’s Farm is located along the banks of the Birrarung, in Narrm/Birrarung-ga on Wurundjeri-Woiwurrung country.
We live, work and play on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people. There has been no Treaty with the First Nations of this place and the effects of colonisation continue to this day. We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people, on whose land this event will take place. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.
We welcome all First Nations people to reach out for free tickets to the festival. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a strict zero tolerance policy towards racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or harassment of any kind. Please report any unwelcome behaviour to staff or event organisers. There may be some strobe lights used in performances.
BLACK JESUS EXPERIENCE, the full 10 piece Ethiofunk supertrip.
We’ll be pumping a bag full of new chunes from BJX’s latest banquet ‘Good Evening Black Buddha’ (double vinyl), plus a hatful of even fresher than fresh chunes from our next album.
The rhymes and chimes of BLACK JESUS EXPERIENCE deliver musical strength and beauty through the vocal prism of Hip-Hop, the soul of Funk, and the freedom of Jazz, iced with the unique voice and insightful truth of Ethiopia’s Enushu Taye.
Honest, believe these sinners:
**** “Beautifully layered and organic, trippy and hypnotic. This is the good stuff, don’t waste a drop of it”
Blues And Soul Magazine
“Ancient to modern sensibility. Rammed with more rhythm-stretching melody than its groove ought to have room for.”
The Guardian – John Fordham
**** “Volcanic.. fusillades of brass and percussion.. spiraling rhythms.. starkly hypnotic.“
The Times – Clive Davis
